Homecoming Commissioner takes office of Hsinchu County Police Bureau
On August 1, 2016 at 9:30 am, the Hsinchu County Police Bureau held the inauguration ceremony for the new commissioner at the auditorium, presided over by the Magistrate of Hsinchu County Chiu, Ching-Chun and the Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of the Interior National Police Agency Lin, Te-Hua. The former Commissioner Lee, Cheng-Hsiao will be promoted as the Chief of the Education Division at the National Police Agency, while the Director of Public Relations Office at the National Police Agency Wen, Chih-Fa will succeed as the new commissioner.
The new commissioner Wen, Chih-Fa graduated Class of 1980 from the Central Police University, and received his Masters from the Department of Police Administration at the Central Police University. Commissioner Wen held many important offices. He had been the Commanding Officer of the Sinchen Precinct Hualien County Police Department, the Tucheng, Zhonghe, Sanchong, and Xizhi Precinct Taipei County Police Department, the Bade and Jhongli Precinct Taoyuan City Police Department, and Xinzhuang and Xindian Precinct New Taipei City Police Department. He also held office as the Chief Inspector of the Penghu County Police Department and Taipei County Police Department. He was also the Deputy Commissioner of the Hsinchu County and Taoyuan County Police Departments, as well as the Director of the Public Relations Office at Criminal Investigation Bureau and also the National Police Agency. Wen had held office as commanding officer at 5 city or county police departments and 4 municipal police departments, with a total of 9 commanding officer positions, gaining a lot of experience in the field. He was also the director of the Public Relations Office both in the Criminal Investigation Bureau and the National Police Agency, with good relations with the Congress and the media, which will allow him to assist in passing police-related budgets and laws. Thus, Wen possesses the skills in public opinion and crisis management needed to enhance the public image of the police.
During his speech, Magistrate Chiu, Cheng-Chun emphasized that he specifically requested the National Police Agency to assign someone who is familiar with the local affairs as the new commissioner of the Hsinchu County Police Bureau, in order to have a seamless continuation for the police work in Hsinchu County to safeguard the security and traffic safety of citizens. Thus, Director-General Chen of the National Police Agency specifically appointed the Public Relations Office director Wen, Chih-Fa as the new commissioner. Commissioner Wen was the Deputy Commissioner of the Hsinchu County Police Bureau in 2007 and 2008, so he is very familiar with the local affairs. He is also the first person to return again to Hsinchu to take office as the commissioner. The Magistrate has faith that after Commission Wen takes office he will be able to lead all the colleagues to safeguard Hsinchu County and achieve great accomplishments.
During the inauguration ceremony, the Magistrate commended the accomplishments of the former Commissioner Lee. During his term, Commissioner Lee solved many major criminal cases, including the “Zhubei Crescent Bay Beach Homicide”, “murder of a Zhubei breakfast shop owner by an Indonesian worker”, “Hukou homicide by the Wen brothers”, “arson case by suspect Wu”, and “murder of two Zhudong middle school girls”. On July 25 of this year, he even led the police force to crack a burglary case in just 3 hours. Even if the police force is under-staffed, Commission Lee was able to use talent and promote teamwork to achieve great accomplishments. Commissioner Lee, in his new role as the chief of the Education Division at the National Police Agency, will definitely be able to demonstrate his excellent work abilities.
The inauguration ceremony was simple yet grand, and successfully concluded at 10 am.
