Hsinchu County Police Bureau (HCPB) is headed by a Commissioner, who is assigned by the Director-General of the National Police Agency. The Commissioner is assisted by two deputy commissioners and a chief secretary in enforcing policing policy and practice in Hsinchu County. The first level of the Organization is made of 13 sections, 3 offices, 2 centers and 9 field units. There are 13 sections set up for the administrative work, including Administrative Affairs Section, Public Order Section, Training Section, Foreign Affairs Section, Logistics Section, Public Security Section, Prevention and Control Section, Forensic Science Section, Internal Affairs Section, Public Relations Section, Secretariat Section, Information Management Section, and Legal Affairs Section. The Personnel Office, the Accounting Office and the Civil Service Ethics Office also play essential roles in the bureau’s administration. The Command and Control Center, the communication hub between the patrolling officers, receives emergency calls on a 24hrs basis. The Civil Defense Operations Center, on the other hand is assumed to operate as the command center in case of a national crisis. Apart from the administration units above, the HCPB has 9 field units, including one corps (the Criminal Investigation Corps), four brigades (Traffic Police Brigade, Special Police Brigade, Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Brigade, and Woman and Children Protection Brigade), and four precincts (Zhubei Precinct, Zhudong Precinct, Xinpu Precinct and Hengshan Precicnt). Each precinct is supervised by a Commanding Officer, and can be further divided into police stations and police substations. The HCPB currently has 9 police stations, 42 sub-stations and 2 mountain admission inspection stations.
